August 2008
Roger Arcara Movies
Our August show will consist of Regular-8 movies from the collection of the late Roger Arcara. The subjects will be as follows:
- New York, Westchester & Boston – The famous movie of the short-lived Westchester-Bronx commuter railroad that was abandoned in 1937
- Third Avenue El in Manhattan – Movies of the long-abandoned elevated on Third Avenue
- IRT Subway in the 1940s and 1950s – Views of IRT equipment across the system
The movie presentation will be narrated by Roger’s longtime friend, Gary Grahl. Roger’s movies have been shown at NYD-ERA for many years. They are a great record of electric traction history. Please come and enjoy the show.
