The NY Division conducted its sixth annual chartered bus trip to the Hudson-Bergen (N.J.) Light Rail System in February 2006. The focus was on the construction underway at the north end of the system, and attendees were treated to a walk through the Weehawken tunnel (see Sandy Campbell photo at left) to the Bergenline Avenue station and the Tonnelle Avenue loop. There were additional photo opportunities along the current operating trackage. After lunch at the Newport Mall, the group viewed the construction of the Newark City Subway extension to the Broad Street railroad station and had a chance to ride the subway.
