29th Annual Grand Central Terminal Tour

Sunday, July 3, 2011

Approximately 20 members were treated to the best Grand Central Terminal tour in years as our host, Dan Brucker from Metro-North, presented an interesting and informative tour of the facility. Many thanks to Dan for a wonderful tour.

The NY Division of the ERA is pleased to announce its 29th annual guided tour of Grand Central Terminal on Sunday, July 3, 2011. This magnificent Terminal, officially dedicated on February 2, 1913, is now better than ever after comprehensive restoration work several years back.

Representatives of MTA Metro-North Railroad will be our hosts to point out interesting features of the terminal, both old and new. In addition to the architectural and structural points to be visited, we hope to see various types of locomotives and car equipment. We will learn about upcoming plans for GCT, such as the LIRR East Side Access. There is always something going on at GCT, and you can have lunch after the tour (on your own) at one of the many restaurants in the lower level dining concourse or on the balconies.

The tour will meet in the stationmaster’s office at 11:00 AM The stationmaster’s office is located under the west balcony on the main level, next to the NY Transit Museum store. In anticipation of the possible need for security clearance for all attendees, please make certain to have a photo ID in your possession.

Ticket Price: $15 Per Person
