The February program will be presented by Eric Oszustowicz. His program will be comprised of high-definition videos and still images. As usual, this will be an exceptionally long presentation and will continue for as long as there is a sufficient number of viewers still present.
This presentation will cover a multitude of subjects. First, there will be a comprehensive look at the rail systems in the New York Metropolitan area. This will include stills and videos of the subway system, Metro North, the LIRR, NJTR and SIR. Interspersed throughout the entire presentation will be views of the New York subway system during 1984, with an emphasis on R14 and R15 subway cars, which would not survive to see 1985 in regular service.
Eric traveled extensively during 2025 within the United States. The various rail systems in the Boston and Washington DC areas will be subject to an extended review. While in the DC area, Eric photographed the MARC and VRE commuter railroads in addition to the WMATA subway system. Current Amtrak operations were also covered. Vintage, and very interesting, MARC and VRE views from the 1990s will be included.
For those interested in freight operations, stills and videos of BNSF, Union Pacific, CSX, Norfolk Southern trains in addition to the interesting operations of the RJ Corman system in Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Kentucky are included.
One will want to stay for the end of the presentation. Eric will show some of his vintage photographs of the New York City subway system taken during the 1980s, including graffiti era views of equipment as old as the R10s in regular service.
After the Erie Lackawanna section mentioned above, we will see some still images and a few videos of behind the scenes operations of the New York subway system.
Eric's presentations typically run three to four hours, so get a comfortable chair and enjoy the show.
