Your dues for the 2019 calendar year are now payable. The board of directors of the Electric Railroaders’ Association, Inc. (ERA) express their sincere gratitude for your loyal support of this organization over the years through subscriptions and participation in our New York meetings, as well as our sponsored local, national and international trips and conventions.
Once again, the board has chosen to hold the line on dues, despite some sizable increases in our direct expenses, which include our meeting place at the centrally located Roosevelt Hotel, the price of printing The Bulletin and Headlights, and postage. For the greater share of members who choose to receive The Bulletin by email, the basic dues rate of $40 continues to be the lowest rate we have been able to offer in several years.
A combination of maintained scrutiny of our finances, along with generous bequests, has allowed us to keep our all-print dues at $75, the same as in the last three years. For digital dues, which still includes the print edition of Headlights, we have held the line on membership rates at $40. To attract younger railfans to the club, we continue to offer a discounted rate of $20 for youth and young adults through 30 years old.
The surge of ERA members electing to receive The Bulletin by email is growing. Advantages of the digital edition include receiving it earlier than the print edition. Pictures are usually in color. And the $35 saving is significant.
Regardless of the rate, you will be receiving value for your money. Most issues of The Bulletin offer 18–20 pages of the latest news and history. Headlights features 90 or more pages of in-depth, highly illustrated articles. Local and international trips have been well planned and thoroughly enjoyed by those attending.
Please take a moment to complete the 2019 Dues Renewal Form below and submit it before January 31, 2019. We look forward to your ongoing support of the ERA’s long record of education and entertainment for those interested in the treasures of the past, present and future of electric railroading.
