The Division’s September program will be presented George Chiasson. George’s presentation will review the Chicago “L” (CTA) rapid transit system, covering the years 1948-2007. Early images (through 1975) are from various collections, most notably late Chicago area railfans George Krambles and Joe Diaz, as well as New York railfan photographer Gerry Landau. They include scenes of many abandoned routes as well as some of the system’s original and PCC-era rolling stock. Also included are some of George’s own images (1980-2007), which include some scenes of recently discontinued operations, recently retired rolling stock, and some contemporary views.
Those who know the quality and detail of George’s work know this is a show not to be missed. Come and enjoy a wonderful evening on the Chicago “L.”
