Eric Oszustowicz, author of The Elevated Railways of Manhattan, will be the presenter for our February meeting. Eric’s slideshow will encompass a diverse group of subjects, so there should be something for everyone.
Eric will begin by showing scenes of the New York area during 2016. This portion will include scenes of the New York City subway system in addition to a brief review of transport-related subjects in the metropolitan area.
Next we will move on to Eric’s roadtrip through the American Southwest in October. Extraordinary views of mainline freight railroading (BNSF and Union Pacific) will be included, plus views of the Durango & Silverton steam railway and the Grand Canyon Railway. While in the Southwest, we will see light rail operations in Los Angeles, San Diego and Phoenix.
We will wind things up with scenic views from Barcelona, Seville, Valencia, Granada, Malaga and Alicante during the first two weeks of Tramways, Metros and Tourism in Spain, the ERA’s international tour in May.
If time permits, the presentation will begin and end with a continuation of Eric’s “best of” collection of photographs. Please join us for an interesting evening!
