The ERA is proud to announce its 10th international tour. Tramways in Romania constitute a diverse assortment of urban, rural and interurban traction, as well as modern high-speed lines. Trolley, light-rail, trolley bus and the Bucarest metro system will be explored on our tour.
During 14 days of travel we will cover many systems. The tour will begin in Bucharest on Friday, May 14th with a welcome dinner. The last excursion will be a sightseeing tour of Budapest (Hungary) on Wednesday, May 26th. We plan on chartering historic or service trams (or trolley buses where available) from the following cities: Bucharest, Braila, Galati, Iasi, Botosani, Piatra Neamt, Ploesti, Sibiu, Cluj Napoja, Oradea, Resita, Arad and Timisoara.
Our tour covers a huge area! In order to optimize our program, we will be staying in several hotel bases in the following cities: Bucharest, Iasi, Brasov, Cluj Napoja, Timisoara and Budapest, Hungary. Hotels were carefully chosen to provide a blend of comfort and convenience. Intercity travel will be by a comfortable charter bus and train travel to Arad and Budapest. From bus and rail we will be able to see many of the sights of historic Romania and Transylvania.
Air transportation is by individual choice. If you need help making air arrangements, please contact our travel agent: Jill Turnquist Camara, Tumlare Corportation at 800-954-6713, ext. 14.
Land arrangements will cost only $2575 with double occupancy ($700 single supplement), and will include:

If you stay in Budapest after the trip on either May 27, 28 or 29, you may stay in the Hotel Novotel Centrum for an additional $135 per day (per person double occupancy; $154 single occupancy).
