The fifth annual HBLR System Trip was held in December 2004. Organized by ERA treasurer Michael Glikin and Hudson-Bergen consultant John Pappas, the trip covered the entire Hudson-Bergen line including the new deadhead at Port Imperial Ferry which has not yet opened to the public. As a special bonus that year, the first half of the trip traced the route of the Newark City Subway Broad Street Extension, then under construction. The abandoned ramps at Warren Street were also examined, as was the old Cedar Street portal.
