31st Annual Grand Central Terminal Tour

Saturday, June 29, 2013

The ERA is pleased to announce our 31st annual guided tour of Grand Central Terminal on Saturday, June 29, 2013. This magnificent terminal, officially dedicated on February 2, 1913, is now better than ever after comprehensive restoration work several years back. GCT is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, making this tour that much more meaningful.

Dan Brucker, Metro-North’s official Grand Central historian, will be our host to explain interesting features of the terminal, both old and new. In addition to the architectural and structural points to be visited, we hope to see various types of locomotives and car equipment. We will learn about upcoming plans for GCT, such the major ongoing East Side Access Project connecting it to the Long Island Rail Road.

Ticket Price: $20 Per Person

Join us for a pleasant day of exploring one of New York’s architectural masterpieces. The tour will meet in the stationmaster’s office at 1:00 PM. You can have lunch before the tour (on your own) at one of the many restaurants in the lower-level Dining Concourse, or on the balconies. The stationmaster’s office is located under the West Balcony on the main level, next to the NY Transit Museum store. In anticipation of the possible need for security clearance for all attendees, please make certain to have a photo ID in your possession.

For further updates and information concerning this trip, please e-mail Sid Keyles at [email protected] or call him at 201-684-9408. This trip operates rain or shine.
